Young Confederate Sergeant 1/9th Plate Ambrotype

A simple portrait of a young Confederate soldier. This classic example features a waist-up shot of an unkown infrantryman, likely an older teenager, clad in his Rebel uniform. Of note are his dark-colored, somewhat haphazardly applied chevrons, which indicate a rank of Sergeant. His hands are folded in his lap. A cherubic face belies the horror he likely witnessed (or would come to). There are some minor rub marks and other blemishes on the plate. Housed in a full leatherette case.
