Uncased 1/4 Plate Tintype of Union Soldier Holding American Flag

Uncased 1/4 Plate Tintype – Union Soldier Proudly Holding an American Flag
This is a dramatic and patriotic 1/4 plate tintype featuring a Union soldier standing and holding a large American flag. The soldier gazes directly at the camera with a strong, resolute expression while prominently displaying the stars and stripes — a classic and highly desirable pose from the Civil War period.

The image has excellent visual impact and a powerful composition. Although the tintype has some bends/waviness (common in larger uncased plates), the bends are not overly distracting and the image would display incredibly well once placed into a proper period case or frame.

Images of soldiers holding flags are relatively scarce and always command strong interest from collectors. This example has excellent presence and patriotic appeal that would make a striking display piece.
