"Dear husband
I received your letter of Jan 1st last thursday I was glad to hear that your friend frank had returned and that he was your tent mate as I think you will enjoy yourself so much better.
you say you are troubled side acks still & you are getting better I fear you are not getting better very much
I am sorry you do not get the box I did not send near as much as I would if I had not thought it a chance whether you got it or not if I had of been sure you would have got it I should of send many things more than I did the picture which I had taken was not sent if you do get that and want another send I will send a box alone if you think best
Heck is peddling as usual I have not seen him in a long time but he keeps
getting ready to leave any time if he thinks a draft is coming I have not heard any thing said about a draft in some time
I wrote to you an a number of letters about selling Nelly you dont seem to get near all of my letters I think I get most of yours
I sold her Nov 24th to a man they call little Co Smith got only $19.5 I felt bad to sell her for that but thought it was best so I did I have had several chances to sell hay have been offered twenty dollars for Ton but I tell them I have not got any to sell I shall not sell any till I know how much we want ourselves if you should have the luck to come home we might want to have a barn to spring under or something I shall keep it till I know whether I have got any to spare or not
I have settled and paid most of the debts I have not done any thing with the Taylor debt yet.
I keep a cash account so when you come home you can see what has become of all the money we owe Oscar Green yet that is 20 dollars I think I shall pay that soon I have got about 130 yet shall have to buy some flour before great while though I have some yet enough to last a few weeks
