Letters from Family and Letter from 8th PA Cavalry Soldier
This group includes three letters two from Livengoods sister and one from Livengood in Virginia with beautiful patriotic letter heading.

Camp Lesley, Virginia
January 29, 1862
Dear Sister,
I take this opportunity to write a few lines to you, to let you know that I am well at the present time. I hope these few lines may find you in the same state of health. Further, I feel sorry that I have not written to you sooner, but I hope you will excuse me for not writing before now.
By these few lines I wish to inform you and Father, and to ask you to let me know where Sister Rosannah is at this time. If you know where she is, and in what township or what place she is living, please tell me what post office I should direct my letter to. I will write to her as soon as I know the correct direction.
Further, let me know how Father is getting along, and write to me where Adam Muse is, if you know. Also write and tell me where Sister Cathrine is — is she still in her old home? I hope she is still there yet.
Further, I want you to ask Thomas Stieler what is the reason that she does not write to me.
This is all for the present time. Here I will send you a present pin. If you can give the pin to Sister Rosannah, do so; and if you do not get a chance, then keep it for yourself.
Further, I stated to you in my other letter that I have everything in plenty. So I have plenty to eat and to drink, and everything is right by me just now, except that I have no chance to go outside the camp to get postage stamps. If you please, send me a few postage stamps, then I will send you all the news that I know at the present time.
Further, I let you know that Daniel Beiteman sent me all the postage stamps that I have got so far to put on my letters.
