ID'ed WW1 Postcard of KIA at Battle of Saint-Mihiel Killed by "Poisoned Bullets". 

 

This photo post card is of Pvt. Fred J Bachman, Pvt. Bachman was a member of COMPANY I, 359TH INFANTRY he was the son of Henry Bachman of Bagwell, TX. Bachman was apart of the the Battle of Saint-Mihiel where he would be killed. The inscription on the backside of the post card is interesting, "Fred J Bachman

died in France in September from wounds by from poisoned bullets only died 2 hrs after he was wounded. I met him last spring at his home in Clarksville" (Texas).  

 

This Bachman was originally buried in France, but was returned to the U.S. and buried in Fairview Cemetery in Clarksville, Texas Aug. of 1921.
