CDV of The Pulaski, Monument in Savannah, Georgia taken by J. N. Wilson

The Pulaski Monument in Savannah, Georgia, stands as a tribute to Brigadier General Casimir Pulaski, a Polish nobleman and hero of the American Revolutionary War. Located in Monterey Square, the monument was completed in 1854 and honors Pulaski’s bravery and ultimate sacrifice during the Siege of Savannah in 1779, where he was mortally wounded while leading cavalry forces against the British. Designed in the Greek Revival style, the tall white marble column is topped with a decorative urn and inscribed with Pulaski’s name and achievements. The monument serves not only as a reminder of Pulaski’s valor but also as a symbol of the enduring friendship between the United States and Poland.
