CDV of Major Alexander Diven served with the IL Chicago Merc Light Artillery and later the US Volunteers. The CDV backmark is Elmira, New York by W. J. Moulton. He was the son of Alexander Samuel Diven Civil War Union Brevet Brigadier General, US Congressman. A successful lawyer who had practices in Elmira and Angelica, New York.
