CDV of Identified Federal Soldiers at Philadelphia Hospital Period Inscription! The Soldiers both were wounded and sent to the Filbert Street Hospital. In period ink is the names of both soldiers and US Hospital Phila. The photo was taken by Laughlin on N.W. Cor 12th and Market. Reuben E. Bickham enlisted in the 6th New Jersey Infantry Co. F. He would be wounded at the battle of Williamsberg Virginia on May 5, 1862. He was discharged wounds on 3/16/1863 at Philadelphia, PA (Discharged from Filbert Street Hospital). Madison H. Skinner Enlisted on 9/30/1861 at New York City, NY as a Corpl. On 10/17/1861, he mustered into "G" Co. New York 61st Infantry.

He was wounded June 30, 1862 Glendale, VA at the Battle of Glendale being sent to the hospital where this photo would be taken. Returning back to service he would be captured by Confederate forces and sent to Salisbury, NC Prison where he would die of Disease and be buried there now resting in the Salisbury National Cemetery.
