1/9th Plate Tintype of Cpl. Oliver Harper Hopkins who served with the 127th Illinois Infantry! According to family lore he was captured and sent to Andersonville Prison. He enlisted on 8/6/1862 as a Priv.On 9/5/1862, he mustered into "A" Co. Illinois 127th Infantry.He transferred out on 8/1/1863On 8/1/1863, he transferred into Veteran Reserve Corps. The identification is from a turn of the century note tag in the back of the case. The image is housed in a complete leather case. While on the darker side this image is a great identified piece of Civil War history. Harper lived until October 5, 1918 passing away in Oswego, Kendall County, Illinois.
